The best Shopify affiliate app depends on what you need most. Pick BLOOP if you want affiliates and customer referrals in one app, GoAffPro if you want a free plan with unlimited affiliates, UpPromote if you recruit influencers and want PayPal payouts and creator vetting, Shopify Collabs if you want commissions billed through Shopify, Refersion if you want a long-running affiliate tool with a partner marketplace, and Affiliatly if you want the lowest flat monthly price for a small program. Social Snowball, LeadDyno and Tapfiliate fit larger budgets and bigger programs.
We compared nine apps using only what each publishes on its own Shopify App Store listing, opened on October 4, 2026, plus BLOOP’s documentation for BLOOP. Where a listing does not say something, this guide writes “Not listed” instead of guessing. BLOOP is our own app, so it appears first. We state its limits next to its strengths, and the tables let you check every number yourself.
Key takeaways
- Free plans exist, but they are limited in different ways. GoAffPro lists unlimited affiliates on its free plan, Affiliatly caps tracked orders at 50, UpPromote caps reviewed referral sales at $3,000 a month, and BLOOP caps orders at 10 referral and 10 affiliate.
- Watch the percentage fees. UpPromote’s paid plans add 2% to 1% of successful referral sales and Refersion’s add 3% or 2% of affiliate-generated sales, on top of the monthly price. BLOOP’s Premium is a flat $59.90 per month.
- Payouts are not equal. Several listings advertise automated payouts through PayPal, ACH or bank transfer. BLOOP records payouts but never moves money, so you pay affiliates yourself.
- Match the app to your stage. A test program needs a free plan, a growing program needs fair per-sale economics, and a large program needs seat, affiliate and conversion limits that do not block you.
How we evaluated these apps
We looked at seven things for each app: whether there is a free plan, the lowest paid price, the commission types the listing names, the payout methods it names, the limits that cap growth (affiliates, orders or conversions), the trial length, and the rating and review count shown on the listing. We did not install or test every app, so this is a comparison of published listings, not a hands-on benchmark.
- Source of truth: each app’s current Shopify App Store listing. Prices and ratings change, so confirm on the listing before you decide.
- BLOOP facts: the BLOOP listing and docs.bloop.plus only.
- No invented numbers: if a value was not on the listing, the table says “Not listed”.
- Conflict of interest: we make BLOOP. We did not rank the apps from best to worst. Each one is described by the use case it fits.
Shopify affiliate apps compared at a glance
Prices are per month unless stated. “Starting paid price” is the lowest paid plan on the listing. Commission types and payout methods are the ones the listing names, and they describe what the app advertises, not how well it works.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BLOOP | Affiliate and customer referral programs in one app | Yes: 10 referral orders and 10 affiliate orders | $59.90 (Premium, 7-day trial) | Percentage, fixed per order, fixed per item, tiered, product-specific | Recorded in BLOOP; you send the money yourself | Free plan order caps; no automated payouts |
| UpPromote | Influencer and affiliate programs with creator vetting | Yes: review $3,000 referral sales per month | $29.99 (Growth, 14-day trial) plus 2% of successful referral sales | Automated rules, custom, multi-level, performance bonuses, product-specific, tiered, royalties | PayPal (auto), bank transfers, bulk and scheduled payouts, tax forms | Growth reviews 300 referrals per month; percentage fee on each paid plan |

| Shopify Collabs | Creator recruiting billed through Shopify | Free to install | Not listed (a 2.9% commission processing fee may apply) | Automated rules, custom, product, tiered | Auto and scheduled payments through your Shopify bill | Fee on automatic payments; 4.2 rating from 432 reviews |
| Tapfiliate | Programs that need team seats and white label | Not listed | $89 (Launch, 7-day trial) | Automated rules, custom, tiered, performance bonuses | Auto-payments, multi-currency | Launch: 50 affiliates and 500 conversions per month; 1 review on the listing |
Two rows deserve a comment. Snowball’s $249 starting price and LeadDyno’s $349 Advanced plan are not mistakes: those tools target brands with large programs. And Tapfiliate’s listing shows a single review, so treat its rating as unproven on the Shopify App Store.
The nine apps in detail
BLOOP
BLOOP Referral & Affiliate runs an affiliate program and a customer referral program from one app. The listing shows a 4.9 rating from 217 reviews and a launch date of July 6, 2021. We build it, so read this section with that in mind.
Key features. Each affiliate belongs to one campaign that holds the commission rule: percentage, fixed per order, fixed per item, tiered or product-specific, with a default of 15% and a 30-day cookie. Affiliates apply through a registration form and work from a branded affiliate portal. Sales start as Pending until you approve them, and a sale where the buyer’s email matches the affiliate’s own is held for review. On the referral side, the listing names discounts, store credit, cash and free products, plus fraud prevention, A/B testing and a Klaviyo sync.
Pricing. The Free plan includes 10 referral orders and 10 affiliate orders. Premium is $59.90 per month with unlimited referral and affiliate orders, priority support and a 7-day free trial, and per the docs it adds a custom sender email and domain, custom portal domains and the Klaviyo and Mailchimp integrations. The price is flat: there is no percentage of sales.
- Pros: one tool for affiliates and customer referrals; flat monthly price with no percentage fee; branded portal and registration form; clear sale approval flow with a self-referral check.
- Cons: the Free plan is small (10 affiliate orders); BLOOP does not pay affiliates, so you send each payout yourself and record it; there is no paused status, so you move an affiliate to Rejected to stop them earning.
- Best for: merchants who want affiliates and referrals under one brand, and who are happy to run payouts from their own bank or PayPal.
UpPromote
UpPromote Affiliate Marketing is the review leader on the list: the listing shows 4.9 out of 5 from 3,849 reviews. It leans toward influencer programs.
Key features. The listing highlights flexible commissions, creator vetting with audience reports and authenticity scores, anti-leak discount links with fraud detection and block lists, and automated tracking and approvals with PayPal payouts. It also lists multi-level, royalties, product-specific and tiered commissions, bulk and scheduled payouts, and W-9 and 1099 tax forms.
Pricing. Free covers a review volume of $3,000 in referral sales per month. Growth is $29.99 per month ($299.90 per year) and reviews 300 referrals a month. Professional is $89.99 and reviews 600. Enterprise is $199.99 with unlimited referral approvals. The paid plans add 2%, 1.5% and 1% of successful referral sales respectively, and all paid plans have a 14-day trial.
- Pros: large number of reviews; creator vetting; PayPal payouts and tax forms on the listing; a free plan.
- Cons: the percentage fee on paid plans grows with your affiliate sales; review limits on each tier; it is built around influencers, so a referral program for your own customers is not the focus.
- Best for: influencer-led programs and stores that want payouts handled inside the app. See our side-by-side BLOOP vs UpPromote page.
GoAffPro
GOAFFPRO Affiliate Marketing shows 4.6 out of 5 from 951 reviews. Its main hook is the free plan.
Key features. The listing says the app lets customers and influencers register in a portal and get referral links, with automated referral tracking and order attribution. It names mobile apps for Android and iPhone with push notifications, multi-level capabilities, tiered and product-specific commissions, performance bonuses, and payouts by ACH, bank transfer, auto-payments, card, gift card and PayPal.
Pricing. Free lists unlimited affiliates, unlimited sales and unlimited traffic, a branded portal, analytics and mobile apps. Premium is $49 per month with everything in Free plus multi-level marketing, custom domain hosting, bulk email and advanced analytics, and a 15-day trial.
- Pros: a free plan with unlimited affiliates; a low paid price; many payout methods named; mobile apps for affiliates.
- Cons: multi-level, custom domain and bulk email are paid features; the listing does not say whether the free plan includes every payout method; no customer referral program in the listing.
- Best for: stores that want to start for $0 without an affiliate cap and grow into a paid plan later.
Social Snowball
Snowball: Affiliate Marketing (Social Snowball) shows 4.5 out of 5 from 212 reviews and is priced for larger brands.
Key features. The listing promises to turn customers into affiliates automatically at purchase, bulk instant cash or gift card payouts, attribution and ROI for influencer campaigns, and tools to eliminate affiliate code leaks and coupon abuse. Commission features include automated rules, maturation periods, custom commissions, performance bonuses and tiers.
Pricing. Snow Day starts at $249 per month and includes unlimited affiliates, influencer management, post-purchase referrals, automated payouts, fraud prevention and live chat support. Blizzard is $899 per month and adds TikTok Shop integration, creator search, social listening, UGC tools, Instagram DM chat, white-glove onboarding and a dedicated customer success manager, with no usage charges.
- Pros: automated payouts and tax forms; post-purchase affiliate recruitment; unlimited affiliates on every plan; hands-on support at the high tier.
- Cons: the entry price is far above every other app here; no free plan or trial is listed.
- Best for: established brands with an influencer budget that want recruiting, payouts and support handled for them.
Refersion
Refersion Affiliate Marketing shows 4.8 out of 5 from 494 reviews and focuses on affiliate tracking and management.
Key features. The listing names unlimited affiliates and click tracking, first-party tracking (“no cookies”), AI-powered affiliate discovery, and the Refersion Marketplace for finding partners. Commission types include multi-level, royalties, performance bonuses, product-specific and tiered. Payouts include PayPal, ACH, bank transfer, card and gift card, with scheduled and automated payouts.
Pricing. The Marketplace tier is free and lists your offer. Launch is $39 per month ($348 per year) plus 3% of affiliate-generated sales. Growth is $199 per month ($1,908 per year) plus 2% of affiliate-generated sales, with SKU and email-level tracking, multi-currency support and 30+ marketing integrations. No trial is listed.
- Pros: affiliate tracking is the whole product; a marketplace to find partners; many payout options; a low entry price.
- Cons: the percentage fee on each paid plan; the free tier lists your offer rather than giving you a free tracking plan; the listing does not name a trial.
- Best for: stores that only need affiliate tracking and want a marketplace. We compare it in detail on BLOOP vs Refersion.
LeadDyno
LeadDyno Affiliate Marketing shows 4.4 out of 5 from 221 reviews. Its plans scale by affiliate count.
Key features. The listing names real-time tracking, fraud protection, auto-tracking and commission types including multi-level, performance bonuses, product commissions and tiers. Payouts include PayPal, Stripe, bulk payouts and multi-currency.
Pricing. Lite is $49 per month for up to 50 affiliates, one commission plan and one affiliate group. Essential is $129 for up to 150 affiliates with three commission plans, MLM, a custom domain and video support. Advanced is $349 for up to 500 affiliates and per-product commissions. Unlimited is $749 with unlimited affiliates. Annual billing saves about 15%, and every plan has a 30-day trial.
- Pros: a long 30-day trial; predictable pricing with no percentage of sales listed; per-product commissions on Advanced.
- Cons: affiliate caps on every plan except the top one; per-product commissions need a higher plan; no free plan is listed.
- Best for: programs that know their affiliate count and want a fixed price per tier.
Affiliatly
Affiliatly Affiliate Marketing shows 4.6 out of 5 from 72 reviews, the smallest base of reviews except for Tapfiliate. It is the cheapest paid option here.
Key features. The listing describes automatic Shopify integration with no coding, affiliate recruitment through a post-checkout invitation, an in-app analytics dashboard, real-time click and commission tracking and custom commission per product. Payouts include ACH, bank transfers, bulk, gift card, multi-currency and PayPal.
Pricing. Free tracks up to 50 orders. Starter is $16 per month with unlimited orders and up to 50 affiliates. Advanced is $24 for up to 200 affiliates and Professional is $39 for up to 500 affiliates. The paid plans have a 14-day trial.
- Pros: the lowest paid prices on the list; unlimited orders on paid plans; post-checkout recruitment.
- Cons: affiliate caps on every plan; fewer reviews than the bigger apps; the listing names no multi-level or influencer tools.
- Best for: small stores that want a simple program at a very low flat price.
Shopify Collabs
Shopify Collabs is built by Shopify (launched April 2, 2021). The listing shows 4.2 out of 5 from 432 reviews, with 21% of ratings at one star, so read recent reviews before you commit.
Key features. The listing says you can recruit creators with a custom affiliate application page and direct invites, offer commission to Collabs creators with an open access program, send and track gifts through Shopify, customize offers with personalized links and codes, and track and pay commissions automatically through your Shopify bill.
Pricing. Free to install. The listing adds that a 2.9% commission processing fee on automatic payments may apply. No paid plan is listed.
- Pros: payouts billed through Shopify; no separate subscription; creator recruiting and gifting built in.
- Cons: the 2.9% fee sits on top of every commission (on a $12.00 commission that is about $0.35); the lowest rating of the bigger apps here; creators and payouts live inside Shopify’s system, so you give up some control.
- Best for: stores that want creator recruiting and automatic payments without leaving Shopify.
Tapfiliate
Tapfiliate Affiliate Marketing is an affiliate platform whose Shopify listing shows a 5.0 rating from a single review, so there is little public Shopify feedback yet.
Key features. The listing names automatic customer recruitment, a branded affiliate portal with personal tracking links, shareable marketing materials, real-time conversion reporting, performance bonuses and 30+ integrations including Stripe, PayPal, Zapier and Mailchimp.
Pricing. Launch is $89 per month for 50 affiliates, 5,000 clicks and 500 conversions a month and one program, with a 7-day trial. Scale is $179 with unlimited affiliates, 100,000 clicks and 10,000 conversions a month and a 14-day trial. Enterprise is $599 with custom limits, unlimited team members and full white label and a 30-day trial.
- Pros: clear plan limits; white label at the top tier; broad integrations.
- Cons: the entry price is above most apps here; monthly click and conversion caps; no free plan listed; almost no Shopify reviews.
- Best for: growing programs that need team members, white label and an integration-heavy setup.
What the percentage fees mean in dollars
Monthly prices hide the biggest difference between these apps. Two of them add a percentage of affiliate sales to the subscription, which makes the cost rise with your success. The arithmetic below uses the figures from the listings and one assumption: that “successful referral sales” (UpPromote) and “affiliate generated sales” (Refersion) are the same as the revenue your affiliates bring in. Check the listing wording before relying on this.
| Monthly affiliate sales | BLOOP Premium | UpPromote Growth | Refersion Launch |
|---|---|---|---|
| $2,000 | $59.90 | $29.99 + $40.00 = $69.99 | $39.00 + $60.00 = $99.00 |
| $10,000 | $59.90 | $29.99 + $200.00 = $229.99 | $39.00 + $300.00 = $339.00 |
| $30,000 | $59.90 | $29.99 + $600.00 = $629.99 | $39.00 + $900.00 = $939.00 |
To rebuild one cell: 2% of $10,000 is $200.00, and $29.99 plus $200.00 is $229.99. Break-even against BLOOP’s flat price is also simple. UpPromote Growth costs more than $59.90 once 2% of sales exceeds $29.91, which is $1,495.50 of monthly affiliate sales ($29.91 divided by 0.02). For Refersion Launch it is $696.67 ($20.90 divided by 0.03). Below those volumes, the percentage plans are cheaper.
This comparison has limits. UpPromote’s Growth plan also caps reviews at 300 referrals a month, so a high-volume store would move to a higher plan with a lower percentage. BLOOP Premium includes no affiliate recruiting, vetting or automated payouts, so a lower bill does not mean the same product. And at $30,000 a month you would be paying affiliates commission too: at 15%, that is $4,500, which dwarfs any software fee.
How to choose by store stage
Just starting: testing with a handful of partners
You need a free plan, a quick setup and no surprise fees. GoAffPro (unlimited affiliates), UpPromote (free review volume of $3,000 a month), Affiliatly (50 tracked orders) and BLOOP (10 affiliate orders) all start at $0. Pick the one whose cap fits your first months. If you also want customers to refer friends, BLOOP covers both with one install. Our guide on how to start an affiliate program on Shopify walks through the first six steps.
Growing: 20 to 150 affiliate orders a month
Now the fee structure matters. Compare the flat price (BLOOP, GoAffPro Premium, Affiliatly, LeadDyno) with the percentage plans using the table above, and choose on the features you use: creator vetting (UpPromote), a partner marketplace (Refersion), or a customer referral program next to your affiliates (BLOOP).
Scaling: large programs and agencies
At this point you care about payout automation, team seats, white label and support. Social Snowball, Tapfiliate and LeadDyno’s top tiers target this stage, and UpPromote’s Enterprise plan has unlimited referral approvals. Read the conversion and affiliate caps before you sign, and ask whether your payout volume needs automation or a spreadsheet and bank transfer will do.
Creator-heavy brands
If most partners are creators who want gifted product and fast payment, Shopify Collabs and UpPromote are the two listings built around that. Collabs bills through Shopify; UpPromote lists audience reports and PayPal payouts. If you also want to compare affiliate and influencer marketing first, see the difference in our referral vs affiliate program guide.
What to check before you pick an app
- Commission rules: can you set a rate per product, per order or per item, and exclude shipping and tax from the base? BLOOP, for instance, lets you exclude shipping, taxes, tips, discounts or specific products, and set a maximum commission per customer.
- Approval flow: do sales wait for your review, so you can approve after the return window? BLOOP never revokes or recalculates a commission once it is paid.
- Payout method: does the app pay for you, or only record what you owe? Automated payouts save time but may carry fees.
- Fraud controls: does the app stop affiliates from buying through their own link, and does it help with coupon leaks?
- Exit cost: can you export your data? Ask before you commit to a tool, because moving 100 affiliates to a new link format means asking each one to update every post.
How to set up your first affiliate app: 5 steps
- Set the commission from your margin. Work out what is left after product cost, shipping and payment fees, then decide what share you can pay. The rate guide on how to start an affiliate program shows the arithmetic.
- Install one app and keep the default campaign. Most apps ship with sensible defaults (BLOOP uses 15% and a 30-day cookie). Change them after you see real orders.
- Build the signup page. Add the registration form to a page on your store, list the commission and the cookie length, and add a short terms section.
- Add the first partners by hand. Invite five to ten people who already buy from you or follow your brand, then open applications to everyone else.
- Place a test order. Use an affiliate link, confirm the sale appears in the dashboard, then check the commission before you announce the program.
Two compliance points apply to every app in this guide. The US Federal Trade Commission’s Disclosures 101 for Social Media Influencers says: “Disclose when you have any financial, employment, personal, or family relationship with a brand.” Put that in your affiliate brief. And for US payouts, the IRS instructions say to “File Form 1099-NEC, Nonemployee Compensation, for each person in the course of your business during the year to whom you have paid at least $2,000” in services performed by someone who is not your employee, per the IRS instructions for Forms 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC. Ask your accountant how this applies to your affiliates, and collect a Form W-9 before the first payout (see the IRS page for Form W-9).
Where BLOOP fits, and where it does not
BLOOP is a good fit if you want one app for affiliates and customer referrals, a flat monthly price, and a branded portal and signup form. It is a weaker fit if you need automated payouts, a partner marketplace or influencer vetting, because those are things other listings in this guide name and BLOOP does not. The full list of what BLOOP does is on the affiliate program page, and our roundup of the best Shopify referral and affiliate apps covers apps built mostly for customer referrals.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best affiliate app for Shopify?
There is no single best app. For a free start with no affiliate cap, GoAffPro’s listing is the clearest. For influencer vetting and PayPal payouts, UpPromote. For affiliates and customer referrals together, BLOOP. For commissions billed through Shopify, Shopify Collabs. For large programs with automated payouts, Social Snowball or Tapfiliate. Match the app to your stage and read the limits on its listing.
Is there a free affiliate app for Shopify?
Yes, several. GoAffPro lists a free plan with unlimited affiliates. UpPromote’s free plan reviews up to $3,000 in referral sales a month. Affiliatly’s free plan tracks up to 50 orders. BLOOP’s free plan covers 10 referral orders and 10 affiliate orders. Shopify Collabs is free to install, though a 2.9% commission processing fee on automatic payments may apply.
What is the difference between an affiliate app and a referral app?
An affiliate app pays outside partners (creators, bloggers, review sites) a commission on sales they drive, and tracks their links and payouts. A referral app rewards your own customers for sharing with friends, usually with a discount or store credit for both sides. Some apps, such as BLOOP, do both, and others focus on one. Our referral vs affiliate program guide covers the difference in more depth.
How much do Shopify affiliate apps cost?
From $0 to $899 per month on the listings we reviewed. Lowest paid prices are Affiliatly at $16, UpPromote at $29.99 plus a percentage of sales, Refersion at $39 plus a percentage, GoAffPro and LeadDyno at $49, BLOOP at $59.90, Tapfiliate at $89 and Social Snowball at $249. Two apps add a percentage of affiliate sales, so total cost depends on your volume.
How much commission should I pay affiliates?
Pay what your margin supports after product cost, shipping, payment fees and any customer discount. A common approach is to start at a moderate rate, such as BLOOP’s 15% default, and raise it for top performers instead of starting everyone high. Work it out per order before you launch, as in our affiliate program setup guide.
Do I need an app to run a Shopify affiliate program?
For a test with two or three friendly partners, a spreadsheet and discount codes can work. Beyond that, an app generates unique links, attributes sales across a cookie window, tracks commissions and gives affiliates a dashboard, which is hard to do reliably by hand.
Can I switch affiliate apps later?
Yes, but plan for it. Affiliate links are tied to the app that created them, so moving means issuing new links and asking partners to update their posts. Check what each app lets you export before you commit, and keep your affiliate list in your own records. If you are moving into BLOOP, ask support how your existing affiliates and referral data can be brought over: the listing names data import on the Premium plan, while new partners can also self-register through the signup form.
Try BLOOP free
If affiliates plus customer referrals in one app is what you need, install BLOOP from the Shopify App Store. The Free plan includes 10 referral orders and 10 affiliate orders, and Premium has a 7-day free trial. You can also read how the pricing works on the pricing page.
